| TIF Board Tax increment financing is one of several development incentives available on municipalities throughout the United States. Tax increment financing allows future real property taxes and other taxes generated by the new development to pay for the costs of construction of public infrastructure and other improvements required to make the project possible. The purpose of tax increment financing is to encourage development of blighted, substandard and economically underutilized areas which would not be developed without public assistance. |
