Special Vehicle Permits Expire June 30

Existing Special Vehicle Permits expire June 30, 2016. Applications for new permits are available at City Hall Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The annual fee for a Special Vehicle Permit is $15.00. A valid license, proof of insurance and inspection of the vehicle by the Lexington Police Department are requirements of the application process. Permits must be renewed after May 30 and before July 1 of each year. For more information, call (660) 259-4633.

Comprehensive Economic Development Strategic Plan Underway

City Administrator Mark Rounds has been actively participating as a member of a Regional Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) Committee. The Committee was originated as part of a broader regional project to develop and initiate regional strategies for the long-term growth and economic stability of Johnson, Lafayette, Pettis and Saline Counties. A comprehensive economic development strategy (CEDS) is designed to bring together the public and private sectors in the creation of an economic roadmap to diversify and strengthen regional economies.
